Anyone know how to get or have state record height for sunflowers? Particularly Missouri. Thanks

Simple answer: Grow it. That's the way you will get it (in multiple ways). Anyway, even though I can't give a really helpful answer, I wish you all the best and keep my fingers crossed for your attempts at setting a new sunflower state record (no matter if you know or don't know the current one).

It might be hard or next to impossible to figure out, in some ways it might be easiest just to grow it and claim it. BUt before you do that I would check with all the country fairs and weigh offs that have tall sunflower categories and possibly check in check other MO giant vegetable growers. Doug English may have an idea or perhaps direct you to someone who might know the answer. At least then you would have an idea of what others have done in your state and if yours is worthy of such a designation. Not sure if it's worth all the trouble and hate that could arise, You never know what kind of bees nest that could stir up if you claim it... . Someone might say my grandmother grew a 30 foot one back in 1950! LOL
