Very similar! But for tomatoes there is a hypothetical technique where a leaf plus a small undeveloped side bud could be removed. The mature leaf would power the growth of new roots and growth of the side bud. It could be a superior way of taking tomato cuttings or at least an alternative. I was surprised by the energy/growing power of a true leaf. I'll have to test this at some point. It's possible that in total desperation a leaf will create it's own new nodes but if I try this again I will add the bud/shoot node that is already forming at that leaf.
