I'm not always an interventionist but I could see myself taking some daconil and a sonicare type toothbrush to that spot (gently with a soft brushhead). The alternative is that it needs to be allowed to heal on it's own, rather picking away at its plant glue? Will it get worse or will it heal if left alone? At least put a fan on it.

Why all the dirt around the wound? What caused the wound? Tough one Russ, this one is for a better griwer than myself.
