Should I treat it or wait and see? One day ago there was just the big crack. This morning I noticed a new one…

No assistance here, really, although I hope anyone with real advice
chimes in here for you;

Just wanna say 'NICE TRIM JOB!', parallel with any of MINE, lol -
Right down to the bone on that precision work - the picture is of HIGH definition!
Great Job.

You'll wanna probably start turning the pumpkin away from that probably 'trailing' vine at the top of the picture but at a VERY slow pace and in VERY small increments.
>>>Actually, the stem is so short it should be done via that vine itself rather than the pumpkin; I broke a friend's pumpkin stem once and needless to say, I was AFRAID of 'im!

Any split is a worry but the bigger deal will be IF it extends into the flesh of the actual fruit by more than let's say a half inch. As in EXTREME cases, please view
North Shore Boyz' 2021 Diary for how it could be someday, but let's hope not:

This fruit is not mentioned again butt a pic is worth a thousand words!
No treatment needed at this time, in MY opinion.
Others?
Hey, Good Luck---Eric G

Nice color kin, those cracks arent a problem as long as they stay dry. They should heal nicely on their own, but for extended dampness sulfer or daconil does help.

Hello Hamik! Looks like you have a nice one going there and she's going to be orange! Those are normal growth cracks at this stage; it means the stem is thickening quickly.

As LK said, keep it dry. You can also use hydogen peroxide for that in addition to the above methods.

Start a diary if you haven't already and we look forward to seeing you at the Irvine Park Railroad weighoff September 23!

Thanks for the advice, everyone was right! The stem cracks got a bit worse but all healed up nicely. @pumpkinpal2 your linked image gave me nightmares.

@Kevin hope you're having another great season! I'll see you at Irvine Park Railroad in a couple months 😎
